Marlins want to host All-Star game
The Florida Marlins have made it known that they would like to host the 2015 MLB All-Star game in their new stadium.
The Marlins have had a chance to host the game before back in 2000, but had the opportunity taken away to put it in a new stadium.
The team is currently having a new stadium built on the former site of the Orange Bowl, and it is expected to open in 2012.
There was a lot of heated debate about the building of the stadium given the fact that the Marlins have had such poor attendance over the years.
The organization is hopeful that a new stadium will make them more competitive financially which will allow them to put a better team on the field, meaning more fans will show up.
